These 2 ply Bird's Eye Maple veneers have a wood veneer backer to add strength and stability. 

The 1' x 46", 2' x 23" and 2' x 46" sizes have an approximately 1/36" thick face veneer and an approximately 1/32" thick veneer backer sheet.  The overall thickness is approximately 1/16" thick. 

The 4' x 4' and the 4' x 8' sizes have a 1/64" thick face veneer that has been pre sanded at the factory and requires no further sanding.  The face veneer is laminated to a wood veneer backer.  The overall thickness is .040" (approximately 2/3 of a sixteenth).
