These 4' x 4' and 4' x 8' sheets of 2 ply Q/C Tiger Oak veneer have a wood backer.  The overall thickness is .040" (about 2/3 of a 16th) which is considerably thicker than our paper backed veneers.  The additional thickness and the wood back adds strength and stability and reduces the "telegraphing" of defects from the veneered surface to the veneer itself.  The additional thickness also resists bleed through of lacquers and other finishes to the glue layer.  The veneers are pre sanded at the factory and require no further sanding.  They can be finished the same as any wood surface.
