These 2 ply book and butt matched Mahogany Crotch veneer faces are made using 4 sheets of approximately 1/32" thick Mahogany Crotch veneer.  The sheets are laid up in a 4 piece matched pattern for stunning effect.  The Mahogany Crotch veneer face is glued to and approximately 1/32" thick backer veneer.  The overall thickness is approximately 1/16".  The veneer backer adds strength and stability and assures perfect flatness.

Grain direction:  The grain direction (the direction of the 4 plumes) goes outward from the center butt joint in both directions along the length.
