These faces consist of a single sheet of approximately 1/32" thick Mahogany Crotch veneer which is glued to an approximately 1/32" thick wood veneer backer.   The overall thickness is approximately 1/16" thick.  The backer veneer assures stability, adds strength and assures perfect flatness.

Grain direction: The grain direction (the direction of the plume) will always be with the long dimension.
